Big Nate Wiki

The Ultmate Snowdown was a snow sculpture contest seen in Big Nate Goes For Broke. It was founded by Nate and co-founded by Francis, Teddy, Chad, Dee Dee, Mr. Rosa, and Mrs. Everett as an attempt to defeat Jefferson. Mr. Rosa and Mrs. Everett are the judges for the contest. It was held Saturday on the Soccer Field. Jefferson hung a tarp so no one would notice them using their mascot to cheat.

When it was 3:00 PM (the time for judging), Jefferson had lost since they just put snow over the old suit of armor in the storage as Mrs. Everett says it wasn't the most imaginative approach. P.S. 38, on the other hand, made their sculpture (Achilles Gets The Point!) out of snow, an icicle (arrow), and nail polish (blood). The judges annouce that P. S. 38 are the winners for their creativity. After the celebration, Mrs. Everett asks why they chose Achilles with Nate replying "Anyone can be beaten!" staring at a furious Nolan.

History

This event was an attempt to defeat Jefferson. Nate made posters, and informed Mr. Rosa and Mrs. Everett about it and convinced them to act as the judges for the contest. The event, which began at 10:00 A.M., was held on Saturday on the Soccer Field. Nate and Teddy were curious when the Jefferson students brought something hidden under cloth on a sled. Dee Dee Holloway suggested it was a corpse, which Teddy rebuffed her for. As everyone organized their building posts, Jefferson hanged a tarp so no one would notice them using their mascot, though the P.S. 38 students did not notice this at first.

Everybody began work for the next six hours. When it was 3:00 (the time for judging), Jefferson had lost since they had just put snow over the old suit of armor in the storage room. Although Nolan spoke in his team's defense, Mrs. Everett said it wasn't initially the most imaginative approach. P.S. 38, on the other hand, made their sculpture (Achilles Gets The Point!) out of snow, using an icicle for an arrow and nail polish for blood. The judges announced that P.S. 38 were the winners for their creativity. After the celebration, Mrs. Everett asked why they chose Achilles out of anyone, and Nate explained it was iconic to the "Achilles' heel" expression. Staring at a furious Nolan, Nate added that "Anyone can be beaten!" They had finally surpassed Jefferson Middle School.
